“Networking” is the new way to be in business. It provides a chance to understand your business through other business’ eyes and helps you grow. “Investopedia” defines Networking as “a process that fosters the exchange of information and ideas among individuals or groups that share a common interest. It may be for social or business purposes.”
Ok, I know, networking is a “thing”, but why do I have to become a member of a specific group, if I can just go out there and do my own Networking?
Think of it this way: When you subscribe to a news website, for example, you have direct access to all the content the media has to offer, right? You may open half an article of a Washington Post link, have the taste of it and need to stop because you are not a subscriber.
When you become a member of a network community it happens the same way. You leave the focus to organize the networking process to it, and go about your business knowing you don’t need to search for answers and experiences, you will be able to listen to them when you have your RVA Amigos meetings.
“I don’t think I need networking and to be honest, I don’t like it as much…”
I understand, and Harvard Business School understands it as well. They even conducted a full research to get to this point and the conclusion they came up with is that:
“networking is a necessity. A mountain of research shows that professional networks lead to more job and business opportunities, broader and deeper knowledge, improved capacity to innovate, faster advancement, and greater status and authority. Building and nurturing professional relationships also improves the quality of work and increases job satisfaction.”
(Tiziana Caciaro, Harvard Business Review)
More than that, becoming a MEMBER means joining a cause. A member is not a mere subscriber, passively receiving content, but an active part of a community. RVA Amigos cause is to bring the Latino community together and to have its members help each other in order to see our group grow and lead the way we know we can. Our members newsletter will be a positive and clean space for advertisement and our blog a platform for our members to speak and be heard. And obviously, our face to face meetings a moment to feel cherished by your community and be open to teach and learn.
We are happy to have you on board.
RVA amigos team.
